ALDI continues to refine its shopping experience with a new store format in Shanghai. The store, which is celebrating its launch today with special promotions, brings more convenience to ALDI’s customers while strengthening its commitment to a long-term presence in China.
Located on Yingchun Road in Pudong New District, ALDI CHINA’s seventh pilot store is designed to be compact to support the dynamic lifestyles of Chinese consumers. Customers can find their favourite French wine and Australian ice cream quickly, and pay for them easily using ALDI CHINA’s WeChat mini-program’s Scan & Go function. For a hassle-free shopping experience, the store can deliver purchases instantly within three kilometres if orders are placed through the WeChat mini-program. Customers can also order ALDI products through delivery platforms Ele.me and JD Diaojia.
The Yingchun store format brings ALDI even closer to its customers. The small size lets ALDI integrate the store deep in neighbourhoods and communities while offering around 1,000 products ranging from Ready-to-Eat meals to body care products. All products are handpicked by ALDI experts to meet local needs and follow ALDI’s 100-year-old principle of offering both high quality and great value.
To help ALDI serve its customers better, the new store will have a WeChat group to inform customers about deals like ALDI’s weekly Super Savers, and offer benefits to consumers who sign up as ALDI CHINA members. Additionally, the Yingchun store has been customised and tailored specifically for the China market to better understand and interact with local consumers. It gives ALDI more opportunities to trial and test retail approaches, and adjust its operations and plans according to data and feedback.
In addition, the Yingchun store ensures the health and safety of ALDI’s customers and employees by continuing some of the cleaning measures that ALDI have implemented, such as sanitising public areas more regularly to ensure a more comfortable environment and a peace of mind for everyone.
To welcome customers to the new store, ALDI is offering one-off promotions on selected products for ten days starting 9 April. Cook up with a feast with fresh products from ALDI’s Super Savers, which is on every Wednesday. Customers can also visit the Yingchun store on the weekends of 11-12 April and 18-19 April for special opening deals on products from wine to snacks.
Besides the Yingchun store, consumers can purchase ALDI products at its six pilot stores in Shanghai as well as online from its Tmall Global Flagship Store, Tmall Classic Store, ALDI’s WeChat mini-program, as well as through our partners Ele.me and JD Diaojia.
